Our story

Champions serving champions

We believe there’s a champion in every athlete, every member and every neighborhood, including the ones others overlook. Our job is to unleash it.

A gym full of cheering kids and coaches
The flame

A full well. A lit flame.

We believe our well (our essence, our heart, our belief) is either full or empty. When it’s full, our flame is lit, and our heart is on fire.

Get Fit started in Harford County as a bootcamp and grew into a home for wrestlers, boxers, young athletes and anyone ready to work. The Well is who we are now: a place where the coaching goes beyond the workout, and where everyone is expected to lift up the person next to them.

Heart on fire

Our values

  1. Coachable

Eyes glued in. Fully focused on the moment.

  2. Selfless

Respect is a necessity. A passion to serve and uplift the person next to you.

  3. Humility

Always good enough, and never good enough.

  4. Fearless

We are brave. Our hope towers over our fears. We are willing to attempt anything in front of anyone.

  5. Mental toughness

Poised, confidently giving our best, even when most would give in.

  6. Finisher

Everyday consistency. Preparing and competing to the best of our ability, from beginning to end.

How we coach

The Ritz-Carlton of athletic development

01

Known by name

We hold ourselves to a Ritz-Carlton standard. Your coach knows your goals, your history and what happened last session, whether you’re one of 12 or one of 300.

02

Every session counts

After every class our coaches record the peak moments, the opportunities and anything that needs adjusting, so the next session is better than the last.

03

Progress you can see

Athletes and parents hear from us about real progress: what’s improved, what’s next, and what we’re celebrating.

04

Mind and body

Strength, speed and technique matter. So do focus, courage and finishing what you start. We coach both.

In their words

Taken to the next level

“I have trained at Get Fit for 4 years now, and I can honestly say I wouldn’t be where I’m at as an athlete without them. Tom, Jeff and Rich helped me to the next level! Great group of guys who are passionate at what they do.”
Hunter RitterJohn Carroll wrestler
“I am stronger, faster, and more confident. My technique and situational wrestling has improved immensely. The coaches motivate me to work my hardest, and I know they will make me the best wrestler I can possibly be.”
David ReaganBel Air High wrestler
“My son really benefited from the youth sports performance. It really increased his stamina and made him a lot faster on the mat. Your off-season wrestling training has been first rate and has made my son a much better wrestler.”
